Sintering process burn-through point modelization
M.-J. Posada Rodríguez, I.-J. Suárez Rodríguez and J. Sáiz de AyalaPublished online: 6 June 2009
Abstract
Quality and production of sinter is essential for an appropriate
operation of the blast furnace. A model for the prediction of the
burn through point in sintering process is developed in order
to improve the stability of the process. Speed strand, air flow
through the bed, raw material rates and real thermocouples temperatures
are considered as input variables. The sinter bed is split
into portions and a set of differential equations (mass and heat
balances) are established in order to obtain a good estimation
of the gas temperature at the wind boxes. These temperatures
are compared with the actual measurements and entered into the
model to achieve a typical modern filtered scheme.
